Proportion in an interior

Proportion in an interior

This well-proportioned space reflects the essence of nature. In this image the Fibonacci and the Golden Section sequence is evident. The Fibonacci, Golden Section or Golden Ratio is the mathematical equation found in all of nature. Everything in this interior is designed accordingly so the eye travels effortlessly around the room. The Fibonacci sequence begins in the centre of the room with the four green paintings, then continues to spiral out clockwise and in it’s rotation it touches all the other contrasting brightly coloured objects.

The counter-levered room and the design of the space has been cleverly engineered to section areas off with lines that forge geometric forms. The white forms and structures break up and divide the large scaled area, this not only increases interest in an otherwise plain environment but makes the space asymmetrically balanced and more in proportion to the human scale. The sun streaming through windows also plays an important role in casting shadows and forming more geometric shapes.

Minimalism is achieved through lack of clutter, unity with consistency and oneness of the white colour. We also see unification through the use of similar shapes and lines. The overall sameness of the elements produces a strong sense of belonging and creating a harmonious composition.
